thanksgiving!
okay so our plans for tomorrow
family dinner at the bahia at 1 with mom dad sister grandpa neighbor
maybe try to swing by clan connor to give hugs
rush to dai’s house to get v drunk with summer and nick and completely stuff ourselves with dai’s amazing cooking
get jeff to drive my drunk ass home so I can have like a lot of sex with him or maybe not because I will be really full of food
friday we’re gonna take my gpa to the zoo and go on a bus tour and the skyride and see the polar bears and tigers again because that’s what you do at the zoo
ahhh another holiday means another excuse to gorge myself on delicious food
I had a lovely day of sleeping in with my bf and my pooch
Then went to the obligatory holiday buffet with my family at Humphreys by the Bay and damn it was the best buffet we’ve been to in a while.
I have a family of extreme laziness so we don’t like to cook (except for me, and I don’t like to clean), and thank goodness no one is super religious. The most religious person in my immediate family (aside from gramps) is my dad who agrees that the institutionalization of religion is ludicrous and harmful. So every holiday we find a buffet and spend two hours together gorging ourselves on delicious noms.
I started with a bagel and lox, pineapple, fancy cheeses, a fresh omelet with onions, cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos, and bell peppers
Next I had the potatoes au gratin, prime rib with horseradish, sea bass, roast veg, and rice pilaf
oh then I had fresh made pasta with sun dried tomatos, spinach, and artichoke with a cream-pesto sauce, and I put some chicken florentine on top
I went to go get a waffle with blueberries and a fist sized of whipped cream, Jeff made fun of me for it..so then I put more whipped cream on
I tried one baby back rib and it was okay, but BBQin San Diego just really doesn’t get better than Phil’s
mmn the dessert was fabulous, there was raspberry sorbet, new york cheese cake, red velvet cake, lemon tart, carrot cake, and really really good chocolate cake along with fresh chocolate strawberries
oh yes and the neverending champagne certainly helped
