Guys, hey, guys. Do you remember that time that Coulson called Natasha and she ended up forming the Avengers? Remember how she did that by digging up Bruce Banner and introducing Steve to him then was the voice of reason when Tony and Steve were bickering and then how she brought Clint back from being mind controlled so that they can be a team? Remember that? Remember how the Black Widow out smarted a god? Remember that time she kept her shit together when the Hulk attacked her, even though she was really scared? Remember when she knocked an alien off his flying scooter and igured out how to drive it despite it being extrateresstrial tech, then got her ass up to the top of Stark Tower, found Loki’s staff and saved the world from being invaded by turning off the machine?
Remember how she was the central character of the whole freaking movie?
Anyone else remember that? I sure do.
#this is exactly why i don’t understand when people say she was only there for looks #natasha was the character most entrenched in forward-moving action #yes there was a lot of character development in everyone else #but natasha was the one who moved the plot #there’s a reason that she was the first avenger we saw on-screen

Every time I watch The Avengers it bugs me so much that Black Widow is using a hand gun in the final battle.
A fucking HAND GUN!! How is that even helpful? It has, like, 12 bullets and then you have to reload? AHHH, someone give her an AK-47 or something. At least something that makes her more of an equal to the rest of the group. This really bugs me.
No, see, you got it wrong.
Black Widow uses a handgun so the rest of the group can catch up.
This is the woman who PLAYED the god of LIES, mischief, and TRICKERY.
Like Beethoven. On a PIANO.
She doesn’t need a bigger gun. Did you see what she was shooting at? Weak points, eyes, important vital bits. One bullet each did the trick. Also notice the BRACELETS she has made out of extra AMMO. And let’s not forget that it was she who went and got to the portal and deactivated it.
And that she did this entirely without super-soldier serum, high tech armor, elemental god powers, or gamma radiation.
Black Widow is scary and amazing and awesome. And she will end you with her little guns.
YES. My mom was all “Oh, a handgun? What the hell is that gonna do?” and I was all “IT’S GONNA FUCK SHIT UP; BECAUSE BLACK WIDOW GETS SHIT DONE.”

Avengers Racebending post (because alladem be POC to me)
Loki (Fujin) = Jun Matsumoto
Thor (Raijin) = Takeshi Kaneshiro
Black Widow = Gina Torres
Hawkeye = Lenny Kravitz
Captain America = Jay Tavare (Navajo)
Iron Man = Laz Alonso (Afro Cuban FTW!)
Incredible Hulk = Alfred Vargas (Filipino)
As egos collide, Black Widow—street name, Natasha Romanova—is the only character who does not throw a monstrous hissyfit. The only character to gather actionable intelligence against Loki from Loki. The character who not only literally kicks sense back into the brainwashed Hawkeye, but then absolves him of any sins performed while under the loony god’s spell.
You want fearless? When midtown Manhattan is swarming with thousands of robo-aliens, the dreaded Chitauri, Black Widow commandeers one of their slippery aero-sleds and flies it to steal Loki’s glowing phallic scimitar so as to save the world so Iron Man can blow up the aliens.

Everytime she came on screen my friend had to physically restrain me from leaping to my feet and screaming “Fuck Yeah! That’s how you do badass boys!”

#and then she tricked him into revealing his plans #ur fave could never
#except no other faves COULD ever because nearly every other names character in this film is male #and natasha operates within gender paradigms #she exploits them and inverts them and uses them to burn the best laid plans #i do think she’s actually afraid here when he says he’ll have clint kill her slowly and intimately #just because he could and my kingdom for the two of them when she has a nightmare about the hulk #but otherwise she knows exactly what she’s doing. every facial expression and body motion is purposeful #these strong powerful men with ego problems think her vulnerable because she’s armed with nothing but her body #and that body is small and breakable and doesn’t have any armor at all #but that body is far more powerful than any of those men realize and she can kill with it if she has to #and she’s got no problem with that but her main goal is extraction and you can’t extract information from the dead #so she takes those assumptions about her and turns that strength against the men who think little of her #she allows them to think they’ve gotten power over her and in so doing she crawls into their plans and burns them down from the inside #your favorites could actually never because every other avenger in this film is a man #and a man could never do this

The Avengers, by kaciart.
All of these Avengers-inspired ensembles hit the right notes, perfectly capturing the key elements of each hero’s look, such as the minimal designs in The Hulk and Hawkeye’s outfits and the structured, tailored digs on Iron Man.
In short, kaciart is definitely delivering some straight-up Avengers REALNESS in here.
I would so wear the Thor outfit
